What it does

Seba is an exhibit guide that runs on your phone. No app needs to be installed — just browse to the site using the QR code above. In the app, scan the label next to any exhibit and Seba gives you a short spoken introduction. Then you can keep asking questions, either by speaking or by tapping, for as long as you're curious. It is recommended to use headphones.

How to use it
  1. Scan. Press and hold the yellow Press to Scan button, frame the exhibit's label in view, then release. Seba reads the label and identifies the exhibit.
  2. Listen. Seba speaks a short introduction in the language you selected. The same text appears on screen as it's read aloud.
  3. Ask. A few suggested questions appear as tappable chips. You can:
    • Tap on a chip to ask that question
    • Press and hold the green Press to Speak button and speak your question
    • Tap Press to type your question to type your question instead
  4. Keep going. Ask as many follow-up questions as you like. Scan a new label anytime to move to a different exhibit.
Understanding the screen

White text — Seba's spoken responses

Green text — What you asked

Yellow text — Status updates, like “Listening…”

Red text — Something went wrong (also appears briefly as a popup)

Setting up permissions

Seba needs your Camera (to scan labels), Microphone (for spoken questions), and Sound (to speak its answers). Your phone will ask permission the first time each is used — tap Allow.

For the full experience — scanning, listening, and spoken questions — use Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone/iPad. Firefox (either platform) and Chrome on iPhone can scan and speak, but can't take spoken questions, so Seba switches to Silent Mode automatically and hides the voice button. You can still ask by tapping a chip or typing.

Android (Chrome / Firefox)

  • Blocked by mistake? Tap the icon left of the address bar → Site settings → set Camera/Microphone to Allow, then reload.
  • Still blocked? Check Settings → Apps → (Chrome or Firefox) → Permissions on your phone.

iPhone / iPad (Safari / Chrome)

  • Tap the “Aa” icon left of the address bar → Website Settings → set Camera/Microphone to Allow.
  • No sound? Check the Ring/Silent switch on the side of your phone — when it shows orange, Seba's spoken answers go silent even though everything else works. Flip it toward the screen.
  • Nothing plays automatically? Look for a Press to hear button under Seba's response and tap it.

Enjoy exploring — and don't hesitate to ask Seba anything.
